CHERRY HILL PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS PROVIDE OUR RETIRED MEMBERS WITH CANCER SCREENINGS

In September and October 2024, 49 of your retired Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters were able to get comprehensive cancer screenings by  United Diagnostic Services, LLC. A special thanks goes out to the New Jersey Firefighters PFANJ for your continued support at the state level for firefighter cancer related issues and to the active members of Cherry Hill Firefighters International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2663 and Cherry Hill Fire Officers IAFF Local 3198 for having our unions sponsor these potentially life saving screenings for the members that came before you.

Did you know that firefighter occupational cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty deaths in the fire service? Between 2002 and 2019, 66% of the names of firefighters added to the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Wall of Honor in Colorado Springs, CO, were of members who died from occupational cancer.

Nearly 25% of retired Cherry Hill IAFF Local 2663/3198 members have been diagnosed with cancer.
