Several of your Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters were recognized on Thursday, October 27, 2023 by the Professional Firefighters of New Jersey (PFANJ) for life-saving actions performed while battling an apartment fire in 2022.

On May 5, 2022, your Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters responded to a report of an apartment on fire at the Colonial Apartments on Cooper Landing Road. Arriving units found a fire in a fourth-floor apartment that started in a bedroom and extended into the hallway of the unit. Members searching the residence also found a disoriented occupant in the smoke-filled unit who they removed to the safety of the apartment's balcony until the fire was extinguished. The occupant was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
